| The
works in Oblique offer Jean-Pierre Legault's personal take on
reality. The photographs taken during his international travels
and in Montreal convey visitors to the heart of the affective
experience. His choice of colours, textures and shapes immerse
onlookers in a universe tinged with a realism that is blurred
around the edges. Jean-Pierre Legault explains that his works
try "to identify what is hiding behind people when they are
silent, behind camouflaged places and discreet objects, to discover
the traces that straddle time, to unearth forgotten properties
and to recapture the poetry of everyday life."
