Geneviève Piché

Painting
Reminiscent of the candid world of children's drawings, this exhibition presents a series of colourful works where feverish forms come to life in imaginary, vaporous evocations. The painterly space is a metaphor of an inner world. The abstraction of the works allows the observing eye to imagine and retrace the artist's spontaneous movements.

Seam ripper in hand, Karen Grenier hunts down the embroidered or woven labels hidden inside garments. In severing the thread she frees them from their utilitarian bonds. The artist showcases simple labels in their fully material aspect, revealing what would otherwise elude our perception: their singular aesthetic dimension or and the message they convey.

Artifact for Now
Installation and sculpture
The sculptures and installations brought together in the Artifact for Now exhibition were created especially for L'Imagier. Influenced by Zen philosophy, André Martel seeks out the logic that can sometimes emerge from ambiguity. By juxtaposing high-tech artifacts and natural elements, the artist reveals a syncretic view of our world

Wild Imaginings on Landscape
Painting
Lisanne Binette uses colour to translates her perception of the chromatic and ever-changing Outaouais landscape. The artist's work freely evokes the effect of natural landscapes on those who contemplate them. The sheer size and strikingly luminous hues of the works rekindle this emotion.
