Jean-Pierre Legault

Oblique

Photography

Not unlike a travel diary, the photographs taken by Jean-Pierre Legault on his journeys through Latin America engage visitors in the emotional experience. The vivid colours, textures and shapes plunge us into a universe tinged with realism that is fuzzy around the edges.

Marie-France Cournoyer

Autour d'un vide un rond

Installation

Marie-France Cournoyer gives shape to her reflections around circular empty spaces, and in so doing infuses a thousand and one thoughts into the creation of her large installations or small artifacts.

Summer Group Exhibition

© Raymond Aubin

Title TBD

Local artists are invited to create works on the theme of "atmosphere," a suggestion that is an avenue for exploring both our natural and social environments. The exhibition also focuses on the appropriation of space.

September 12 to - October 31, 2010

Main Gallery

Amy Schissel

Prolix X

Painting

Amy Schissel examines the constant presence of virtual images and the impact of this data-driven environment on the imagination. The artist's paintings hybridize medium-specific techniques and the various methods of digital representation. Repeated gestures and patterns create a visual experience of infinite dimensions.

Mini Gallery

Sylvie Crépeault

J'me marie, j'me marie pas

Photography

For this exhibition, Sylvie Crépeault was married 12 times, and got it all in pictures. The artist challenges the validity of both the institution and the social practice of marriage in this somewhat ironic portrayal of love.

November 14 to - December 19, 2010

Main Gallery

Steve Leroux

Décalages

Photography

Steve Leroux shares his personal relationship with his environment, especially in terms of our perception of time. His photographs present imaginary spaces that are created by the coming together of places or things marked by the passing of time and enigmatic characters.

Mini Gallery

Nancy Perron

Drawing

Nancy Perron's works consist of linear fragments of strange bodies drawn from live models. Their spontaneity is aimed at preserving all of the emotion of a performance-like gesture. This approach to the artistic nude casts doubt on the interpretation of human appearance.
