Jean-Pierre Legault lives in Montreal, where he works as a journalist.

His artistic practice is related to his numerous trips through Latin America-mainly Peru and Bolivia, his journeys in the Arctic, as well as more familiar Quebec-based settings. The artist's photographs have been featured in solo exhibitions at Occurrence, espace d'art et d'essai contemporains (2008), Agora de la danse (2006), the Maison de la culture Frontenac (2005), the Galerie Sylviane Poirier (2004) and the Musée des Deux-Rives de Salaberry-de-Valleyfield (1998). Jean-Pierre Legault was also part of the group show La photographie hantée par la photographie spirite (photography haunted by spirit photography) at the Musée régional de Rimouski (2009).
