The urne in this fontain was commissioned in Osaka in 1907 by Lord Strathcona, then Canada's High Commissioner to Great Britain, to honour the establishment of trade relations between Canada and Japan. It was part of a larger sculpture that stood for many years in Nepean Point Park in Ottawa. It was installed in the Parc de l'Imaginaire in 1987, donated by the National Capital Commission. |
